LH Ovulation Test Strips
Description
Luteinizing hormone, or LH, is a hormone that is associated with ovulation. LH test strips are used to provide qualitative information in order to predict a LH surge, or impending ovulation. Ovulation should occur 24-48 hours following a positive test. (Sensitivity (IU/mL) of the LH tests is 25mIU and the strips can display result in less 30 seconds if the sample urine is clean)
Testing Times:
Determine the length of your menstrual cycle before testing. Please note: the measured time length of a menstrual cycle is the start of your first menstrual bleeding day to the day before the next bleeding begins.
Refer to the sequence below to determine when you should start testing: If your cycle is shorter than 21 days or longer than 38 days, consult a physician. If you do not know your cycle length, you may begin the test 11 day after your first period, as the average cycle length is 28 days.
Perform 1 test per day over a 5 day period, or until the LH surge has been detected.
Reading the Results of LH Ovulation Test Strip:
No LH Surge
: The Control Region is marked with only one color band, or if two color bands are visible but the Test Band appears lighter than the Control Band, there is no LH surge.
LH Surge
: If two color bands are visible and the Test Band color is the same or darker than the Control Band, ovulation should begin within the next 24-48 hours. If trying to get pregnant, the best time to have intercourse is after 24 but before 48 hours.
Invalid
: No visible band at all. Repeat with a new test kit. If test still fails, please contact the distributor or the store where you bought the product, with the lot number.
